Mental Health First Aid Certification
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a 12 hour certification designed to give members of the public key skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. A five-step strategy is applied to assessing risk, respectfully listening to and supporting the individual and assisting the person in finding appropriate professional help. This course serves to both improve recognition of mental disorders and to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness.
Date: June 21 & 22, 2013
Time: Friday 6-10pm, Saturday 8am-5pm
Cost: $125 (includes manual, certificate, and CEU’s*)
*CEU's have been approved for LADC, LPC, & Case Managers. This program has been approved for 12 (General) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
