Character creation in Blender 3D

This workshop will begin with and Introduction to 3D and Blender and give examples of characters and animation. Students will learn how to model the character, paint a texture map, rig the character, and add expressions to the face ("shapekeys"). Come learn about general animation of your character, animating a walk cycle, and rendering the scene. Students need to bring a flash drive in order to save their projects.

Date: Thursdays, Feb. 13-27

Environment creation in Blender 3D

This workshop will begin with and Introduction to 3D and Blender, and give examples of different scenery. Students will learn how to create an outdoor scene with trees, shrubs, rocks, etc., rendering out a final image/video. This hands-on class will have students create a street scene with fire hydrant, manhole, etc., rendering out a final image/video, and well as creating an indoor scene in a living room, with a couch, table, lamp, etc., rendering out a final image/video. Students need to bring a flash drive in order to save their projects.

Vehicle creation in Blender 3D

This workshop will begin with and Introduction to 3D and Blender, and give examples of different 3D Cars. Students will begin this hands-on class by finding blueprints for a car, beginning modeling the exterior, interior, wheels and tires. Come learn about creating materials within the "Cycles" rendering options, and rendering out a final image/video. Students need to bring a flash drive in order to save their projects.

Microsoft Word 2010 Level 1

In this class, students will format a typical Internet essay. Skills include page layout, line spacing, paragraph and character formatting, and insertion and arrangement of pictures
and drawing objects.

Microsoft Word 2010 Level 2

Come learn how to manage mail merge of address lists for printing letters, envelopes, and labels. This class will also show you how to create electronic forms that can be filled in on the computer.

Microsoft Excel 2010 Level 1

This course focuses on the creation of spreadsheets and charts. To include: data entry, formatting data, and calculations. Learn how to manage a typical address database through functions of sorting, filtering, and sizing rows and columns to accommodate different data types.

Microsoft Excel 2010 Level 2

In this class, students will create spreadsheets with multiple worksheets and control links and calculations between worksheets. Students will use formulas and data constraints to do a few calculations beyond simple addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. This class will also teach how to manage the printing of spreadsheets and charts.

Effective Presentation Skills

Slides and transparencies are things of the past. New presentation trends have evolved, which range from the computer-based Microsoft PowerPoint and Apple Keynote to the online SlideRocket and Prezi applications. A well-designed and executed presentation with the right colors, audio, video, and interactivity is a must-have to win clients or get a job. Students will explore different presentation designs and resources as well as refine communication and presenting skills. Come learn how to sell yourself through interactive resumes, sell your vision to your boss, or sell your project to a venture capitalist.
