Greetings from the Dean
Welcome to the Northeastern State University Graduate College! We at NSU are rightfully proud of our Master’s programs and Graduate Level Certificates. Our programs span the range of graduate disciplines and all have adopted “best practices” in their curricula. This leads to a fine graduate education and high levels of employability following graduation. The NSU Graduate College follows NSU’s focused mission statement of empowering individuals to become socially responsible global citizens by creating and sustaining a culture of learning and discovery. We are also committed to “making place matter” where we serve regional stakeholders and prepare graduates who will contribute to Oklahoma and our region in meaningful ways. Come join us as we begin our second century of excellence in education.
NSU provides students an opportunity to achieve their educational goals by attending one of our three campus locations. Serving the eastern part of Oklahoma, with campus locations in Tahlequah, Muskogee and Broken Arrow, we offer 21 master’s degrees and six certificate programs. NSU is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association, so all programs are fully transferable and accepted by employers and other universities. Additionally, at least four new programs are in the process of being added and methods of information delivery continue to expand. Whether taking a class in a traditional classroom, enrolling in an online course or selecting a blended delivery method, we are positive we can fit your educational needs.
Our faculty are active in their respective fields and truly enjoy their teaching, research and service experiences. You will find that the graduate classes are small, allowing for better relationships between faculty and students. Many of our faculty also serve as graduate advisors to assist you in every way to ensure your experience at NSU is a positive one. Further, the Graduate College is committed to making certain that your progress through your graduate experience is seamless, efficient and meaningful.
We also encourage you to become a part of our NSU family by joining one of the myriad of campus co-curricular, international and professional activities. Studies have shown that students who are involved with campus and professional experiences are more fully rounded, enjoy life more and are better prepared for the changing global and social environments and their professional occupations after their graduate college experience.
Come visit us soon and allow us to give you a guided tour of our lovely 100-year-old campus located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Sincerely,
Tom Jackson, Ph.D.
