Collaborative Units of Study

A unit of study is a subdivision of instruction within a course, a textbook or a subject area. Lesson plans can be developed around a particular topic of study or teachers can build a curriculum around unit studies to encompass all major topics of that content area. Teacher/librarian collaborative unit planning can be helpful when covering content area, proposing learning activities and instructional strategies, performing assessments, and addressing standards.
