 Recent Alumni News:

  • Daniel Thompson (BA, Musical Arts, 2011) had his composition hourglass invention for cello solo  selected to be performed at the University of South Dakota's 60/60 New Music Concert on Friday, January 27. His piece summoning a skeleton specter is being performed by clarinetist Thomas Piercy and pianist Claudine Hickman on April 8th as part of the Composer's Voice concert series in New York City
     
  • Sara (Burns) Lambert  (BME, 2011) has been appointed director of bands at East Central High School in Tulsa. Sara is a student of Dr. Patricia Surman.

  • Kyle Williams (BA, Music (Business), 2010) works for Aristar Studios/Merf Music Group in Tulsa, OK. He also tours with the band, Stars Go Dim. Williams is a student of Dr. Jason Dovel.

  • Aaron Hollon (BA, Jazz Studies, 2008) played on the national tour of the musical All Shook Upfrom January-April, 2011 and on a Princess Cruises showband for a world cruise on the Dawn Princess. He is currently playing the national tour for All Shook Up.
     
  • The jazz combo Primal Swing, which consists of current NSU music student Eric Schmidt (BA, Musical Arts, junior), Brent Deacon (BME, 2006) and Jeffrey Jones, performed at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame on April 3, 2011.
     
  • Stephen Clark (voice) will be attending Oklahoma City University to pursue a master's degree in music in Fall 2010. Clark is a student of Dr. Robert Daniel.
     
  • Michael Black (trumpet) has accepted a position as Director of Bands at Panama High School.  Black is a student of Dr. Jason Dovel.
