The Business Administration majorprovides a diversified background in the various disciplines necessary for success in the field of business. Regardless of the future occupation of the student, a background in the basic business areas is an essential ingredient of effective business decision-making. The Business Administration major allows a student to tailor his or her degree to individual career objectives with more flexibility than other majors. With guidance from an academic advisor, students choosing the Business Administration major complete the major requirements by selecting courses from the functional business areas which best meet their academic and career objectives.

An Associate of Science or Associate of Arts degree earned from Connors State College fulfills the general education requirements. Admission to the College of Business and Technology requires the following, all with a grade of “C” or better:

• Freshman Composition I (ENGL 1113)
• Freshman Composition II (ENGL 1213)
• College Algebra (MATH 1513)
• Microcomputer Applications (CS 1103)

The following courses are required for completion of the Accounting program. It is recommended that you complete these requirements while completing your associate’s degree.

• BUSN 2543 Financial Accounting
• BUSN 2643 Managerial Accounting
• BUSN 2113 Macroeconomics
• BUSN 2213 Microeconomics
• BUSN 2143 Principles of Management
• MATH 1513 College Algebra
• BUSN 1263 Intro to Microcomputers & Business

An academic advisor is available through the College of Business & Technology Dean’s Office to work with students pursuing BBA degrees who have yet to select their intended field of study. Once a student has declared a major, he/she will be assigned a faculty advisor.

NSU Course Sequence

Note: For admission to the BBA Program, students must have completed (30) credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.0. Included in these 30 hours must be ENGL 1113, ENGL 1213, and MATH 1513 with a grade of “C” or better. Satisfaction of the university’s computer proficiency policy is also required. Students failing to meet these admission requirements will be limited in the business classes they may take until all requirements are completed. Students in all CBT programs must read and sign the CBT Code of Conduct.

The following grid outlines your last four semesters at NSU; assuming that you have completed your general education requirements (or have a recognized associate’s degree) and you have completed all of the program pre-requisites.

Courses are sequenced and it is suggested that you adhere to the blocks outlined above to complete your graduation on the appropriate time frame. Any deviation of the sequence may extend your projected graduation date.
