Academic Advisement for Psychology and Counseling

Steps to Effective Advisement

  1. Schedule an appointment with your assigned advisor
  2. Review your degree audit using Degree Works
  3. Print a copy of your audit and bring to your appointment
  4. Write down any questions you may have after reviewing your degree audit
  5. Write down a tentative schedule of classes prior to your advising appointment
  6. Keep in mind that faculty advisors DO NOT have access to enroll students
  7. Be familiar with your student ID# in Banner using goNSU (ex: N00XXXXXX)
  8. Explore your options for your declared minor prior to your appointment

All Psychology majors must declare a minor consisting of 18 hours
