Northeastern State University owns 5 Webinar accounts that the Center for Teaching & Learning administers. The Next Level Studio is a content creation lab available to staff, faculty, and students of Northeastern State University with a faculty sponsor. The studio is a place for the creation of strategically designed instructional content using techniques for video, audio, imaging, 3-D printing, and on a smaller scale, virtual and augmented reality. The Next Level Studio was created with the faculty and staff members in mind. That concept included making the studio itself flexible, or mobile. NSU Online can bring the studio in essence, to remote locations even though the main studio is located on the Broken Arrow campus Library Building, room 225. Research shows learning occurs best when content is delivered with multiple learning styles. NSU Online wanted to help faculty and staff leverage the power of multimedia platforms when delivering their course content. In doing so, faculty can go beyond a text-driven course and provide a more engaging student experience.
Light Board
The Light board, which is an internally illuminated glass pane whiteboard, offers an engaging visual and auditory experience. Currently, the faculty and the Light board to be a wonderful means for presenting equations, flow-charts, lesson introductions, and diagrams.
Green Screen
The Broken Arrow studio utilizes a wall-spanning green screen backdrop perfect for filming any type of environment a subject wants to be displayed behind them. Think of a meteorologist, where they interact with the images displayed. The filming process is supported by the use of different types of +microphones to generate quality sound. The subject also has a digital teleprompter in front of them to help them keep track of the script.
Interview Corner
Our interview space is set up to allow for multiple styles of in person interviews. Including the options of over the shoulder shots of two participants or wide angle shots of group. This space will allow you to bring guests from outside of NSU and record an interview in a professional manner. If the guest is unable to attend in person, we can use Zoom to create remote interview where the presenter is engaging with screen rather than just using a Zoom recording.
Teleprompter
Our camera mounted teleprompter works with text being bounced off special glass placed in front of the lens. This type of prompter is used mainly for pre-recorded videos for speakers or guests. By using the teleprompter, faculty can focus more on the presentation and less on remembering what they are supposed to say. By being eye level with the camera it doesn't look like they are reading and instead gives off the presences of a confident presenter.
