Communication Lab

The Communication Studies program has established and currently staffs a Communication Lab that provides individual and small-group instruction surrounding:

  • Public Speaking
  • Techniques to Reduce Speaking Anxiety
  • Special Occasion Speeches
  • Speech Outlining
  • Focus Groups
  • Research Presentations
  • Employment Interviews
  • Press Conferences

The Lab is open to the entire NSU and Tahlequah community. It provides supplemental training for students and is a support resource for faculty. Students and faculty can bring any kind of speaking project, at any stage of development, to the lab for personal consultation and instruction.

Consultations take place with trained faculty and graduate students and last approximately 20 minutes. Clients receive written and verbal feedback during the appointment, including specific suggestions on how to improve their speaking project.
