Former Sociology Students

Amy Knoll a 2004 NSU sociology graduate, is currently employed as a Children's Case Manager for Area Mental Health in Garden City, Kansas. Her primary duties include working with severely emotionally disturbed children ages 6 to 18. In addition to obtaining a successful career, Amy is a graduate student at Fort Hayes State University in Kansas. She is pursuing a Master's degree in Counseling and plans to continue working with children.


Sandra Wright graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from NSU. In 2010, she earned a Master's of Human Relations degree from the University of Oklahoma. Further, Sandra became certified as a licensed alcohol and drug counselor. Currently, Sandra works with drug court and female diversion clients and she is eligible to go under supervision to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.


Lani Melendez graduated in 2012 with a B.A. degree in Sociology from NSU. She currently serves as an Education and Drug Endangered (DEC) Instructor for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics. She is responsible for coordinating drug awareness programs and teaching the content of these programs to all of the northeast and southeast regions of the state.


Robert Lynch, a 2012 sociology graduate, is currently a deputy for the Muskogee County Sheriff's Department. Specifically, Bob serves as a K9 handler for the Sheriff's Department.


Beth Reese graduated in 2012 with a B.A. degree in Sociology from NSU. She is currently employed as a Child Welfare Specialist II for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Beth works closely with the area Assistant District Attorney, evaluating the safety of children.
