History Program Mission Statement

The Department of History prepares students to master the content knowledge and historical thinking methodology of the discipline, succeed in productive and fulfilling careers through developing analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills, and pursue engaged global citizenship.

The Department also supports the production and dissemination of original, peer-reviewed scholarly research and analysis that extends our understanding of the past and makes faculty expertise available for the benefit of regional communities.
