Summer 2013 Conference and Workshop

Cynthia Leitich Smith and Dr. David Loerstcher

On June 7-8th, Project I'm Ready! was fortunate enough to have New York Times bestseller Cynthia Leitich Smith facilitate a two-day workshop/conference venue on the NSU Broken Arrow campus. Cynthia is a member of the Muskogee creek tribe, and shot to prominence with her young adult Ferrell series. During her time with us, Cynthia provided both an author's workshop for the general public, which gave the audience an insight into her novels and her process, and a workshop for library media students attending NSU.

On these days, we also had Dr. David Loertscher with us, who delivered a workshop to the general public based on the Virtual Learning Commons concept on June 7, 2013. Participants were taught how to create a Virtual Learning Commons that would become the center of teaching and learning in the school.
