Avian Ecology and Behavior, Swainson's Warbler Breeding Biology in Oklahoma
Current specific projects
Documenting natural history traits of the Swainson's Warbler, an elusive and difficult
to study bottomland hardwood specialist.
Examining changes in territory sites of Swainson's Warblers in response to forest
succession, silvicultural practices, and stochastic weather events (tornadoes and
floods).
Documenting avian migratory flight patterns by recording nocturnal flight calls.
Examining habitat characteristics of nest locations and male territories of Swainson's
Warblers.

Current Students
Darby Hanna, is a senior undergraduate Honors Student and tutor at NSU. Her project
investigates the maternal and paternal contributions to nestling provisioning in Swainson's
Warblers.
