ROTC Scholarships
SCHOLARSHIPS
Army ROTC is one of the largest providers of scholarships in the country, making thousands
of awards to students every year.
The Army ROTC scholarship program provides financial assistance for the education
and training of highly qualified and motivated young men and women who desire to be
commissioned as officers in the Army after graduation from college.
Selection
Winners are chosen based on their academic records, SAT/ACT test results, teacher
evaluations, extracurricular activities, leadership potential,a physical aptitude
exam, and a personal interview.
Basic break down of scholarship selection process is the SAL report:
Scholar: Are you demonstrating good academic standing? SAT/ACT scores? GPA? Special academic
awards and achievements? As a cadet your number one priority is academics. Demonstrating
good knowledge and ability to learn is essential in the US Army.
Athlete: Physical fitness and discipline is very important in the Army. Are you demonstrating
your athleticism? Did you play organized sports? Can you play in a team?
Leader: Are you a leader in your own community? What organizations are you involved in? School
events that you participate in? Fraternities, clubs, volunteerism? US Army officers
are not only leaders on the battlefield but also in their community, heritage and
families.

Leadership, Extracurricular, and Athletic Activities
Our scholarship winners are usually well-rounded, active students with good grades and above average potential. More than half of them have held an office either in one of their classes or the student body. Most are National Honor Society members, and a few are editors of school publications. Many are members of clubs (at school, church, or private organizations), and others are varsity letter winners and varsity team captains. As you can see, we look for achievers with broad interests, leadership ability, and a demonstrated willingness to take on challenges and overcome them.
Army ROTC scholarships are awarded based on applicant merit, not on financial need. 4-year, 3-year, 2.5-year and 2-year scholarships are available to qualified students.
