The Accounting program at Northeastern State University is designed to prepare the accounting major for a career in the accounting profession, public, private, or governmental. In addition, the accounting curriculum is designed to develop the accounting students ability to work effectively, to become mentally disciplined, to communicate orally and in writing, to be aware of professional responsibilities, to develop an appreciation of the accountant's high standard of integrity, and of objectivity in reporting. The Accounting Program is structured to provide the non-accounting major with basic accounting knowledge for use in a chosen major field and personal life.
An Associate of Science or Associate of Arts degree earned from Eastern Oklahoma State College fulfills the general education requirements. Admission to the College of Business and Technology requires the following: Freshman Composition I (ENGL 1113), Freshman Composition II (ENGL 1213), College Algebra (MATH 1513), and Microcomputer Applications (CS 1103), all with a grade of C or better. The following courses are required for completion of the Accounting program. It is recommended that you complete these requirements while completing your associate's degree.

- ECON 2113 Intro to Macroeconomics
- ECON 2123 Intro to Microeconomics
- MGMT 2113 Principles of Management
An academic advisor is available through the College of Business & Technology Dean's Office to work with students pursuing BBA degrees who have yet to select their intended field of study. Once a student has declared a major, he/she will be assigned a faculty advisor.
NSU Course Sequence
Note: For admission to the BBA Program, students must have completed (30) credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.0. Included in these 30 hours must be ENGL 1113, ENGL 1213, and MATH 1513 with a grade of C or better. Satisfaction of the university's computer proficiency policy is also required. Students failing to meet these admission requirements will be limited in the business classes they may take until all requirements are completed. Students in all CBT (College of Business and Technology) programs must read and sign the CBT Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct may be found on the CBT web site.
The following grid outlines your last four semesters at NSU; assuming that you have completed your general education requirements (or have a recognized associate's degree) and you have completed all of the program pre-requisites and recommended courses on the front side.
