Project Vigilant Training

Project Vigilant Training & Community Engagement: Preventing Predatory Crime in Oklahoma

Oklahoma ranks among the highest in the nation for violence against women.

  • Nearly half (49.1%) of Oklahoma women experience intimate partner violence, including physical assault, stalking, or sexual violence.
  • The state ranks second in the U.S. for women murdered by men in single-victim, single-offender incidents.

These aren’t just statistics. They represent lives forever changed by violence—violence that often follows a pattern of warning signs.

But what if we could disrupt that pattern? What if we could train law enforcement, communities, and businesses to recognize risk factors and take meaningful steps to enhance safety?

This June 18-20, 2025, Project Vigilant is coming to Oklahoma to provide a groundbreaking training event designed to identify and deter predatory behavior before it escalates into violence.

Why Attend?

Predatory behavior doesn’t happen in isolation—it follows a pattern. Project Vigilant is an evidence-based approach that equips law enforcement, businesses, and community organizations to recognize and respond to behaviors linked to harassment, stalking, and assault risks.

This three-day training will help you:

  • Recognize early warning signs of predatory behavior in public spaces, nightlife, and college settings.
  • Understand the role of proactive prevention in reducing violence.
  • Improve collaboration between law enforcement, business owners, and community leaders.
  • Learn from real-world case studies from the UK, where Project Vigilant has identified over 1,000 individuals exhibiting high-risk behaviors.

Who Should Attend?

This event is for everyone who plays a role in public safety and crime prevention:

  • Law Enforcement & Safety Professionals: Learn how behavioral observation and intelligence-led strategies can deter crime.
  • College Administrators & Campus Safety Officials: Implement proactive measures to protect students from harassment and sexual violence.
  • Community & Advocacy Organizations: Understand how community partnerships can strengthen prevention efforts.
  • Hospitality & Business Owners: Train staff to recognize and de-escalate unsafe situations.

Event Details

  • Location: Northeastern State University
  • Date: June 18-20, 2025
  • Time: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM each day
  • Cost: $25.00

Why This Matters

Traditional policing and safety measures often focus on reacting after a crime has occurred. Project Vigilant is different. It’s about empowering professionals and communities to recognize behavioral red flags and take appropriate, lawful action—whether that’s improving situational awareness, engaging trained personnel, or leveraging community-based prevention strategies.

By working together, we can create safer environments where predatory behavior is identified and deterred—before harm is done.
