OSHA 30 for the Construction Industry

Many employers will not hire personnel who do not have the OSHA 30 Certificate.  Some employers will not hire safety managers who do not have the OSHA 30 certificate even if the applicant has a degree in safety management. The 30-hour Construction OSHA Outreach Training Program is intended to provide a variety of training to personnel with some safety responsibility. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention, not OSHA standards. Instructional time must be a minimum of 30 hours. Hazards and topics addressed in the course include falls, electrical, struck-by, caught-in or between, cranes, excavations, concrete and masonry, scaffolds/aerial lifts, construction forklifts, ladders, and heavy equipment. The course is authorized by OSHA and participants successfully completing the course will receive an OSHA 30 card. The course is available to all—
NSU students, personnel from companies in northeastern Oklahoma, and anyone else wanting to earn an OSHA 30 card (construction industry).

With the class we are providing you will have live interaction, in a classroom, with a Ph.D. instructor who is also a Certified Safety Professional.  In addition, the instructor has 20 years field experience with some of the largest construction companies in the world.  One more thing, OSHA authorized trainers are required to provide resources to class participants.  When it comes to providing these resources I go above and beyond, not to meet a requirement, but to provide resources useful to safety managers working in the construction industry.  Learners taking part in the NSU OSHA 30 will receive a flash drive with over 3,000 files developed and accumulated over a 20 year career.  The digital resources include OSHA brochures/posters, Hazard Analyzes, SOPs, PowerPoint training materials, photo library, etc.  These are resources students will be able to use when they are working as a safety professional.
