Scholarships

NSU is committed to assisting students in applying and earning scholarships. Whether you are an incoming freshman or a continuing/returning student, NSU has a wide variety of scholarship options for students to choose from.

Clubs and Organizations

From networking to leadership opportunities, NSU’s over 80 clubs and organizations allow our students to build lasting relationships while getting the full college experience.

Transfer Students

Whether you’re an incoming or current transfer student, NSU’s transfer advisors are available to assist you with transcript evaluation, information on degree programs and support services. NSU is where You Belong.

Graduate College

Whether transitioning to graduate school or returning to higher education, NSU’s graduate college is your next step. Choose from over 25 master's degrees and several certificate programs.

NRA Basic Rifle

Two-day NRA Basic Rifle course for students with any level of experience, who own or are interested in owning a rifle. Includes classroom and range exercises emphasizing safety and correct shooting technique. Free loaner rifles available.
Maximum 4 students per class. Must be 18 and can legally possess a firearm. For more information, email the instructor , Dr. Salmon.

The Instructor
Retired NSU professor, Dr. Salmon, is an NRA- and CLEET-certified firearms instructor. He provides high quality creative instruction in a professional and friendly manner that optimizes each student’s learning experience.

Dates, Times, Location
Not regularly scheduled. Contact NSU continuing education or email Dr. Salmon to arrange a class. Typical schedule:
• Day 1: 8:30-5:30 classroom instruction, Hillside Church in Tahlequah

• Day 2: 2:30-5:30PM outdoor range exercises, private outdoor range in Tahlequah

Class schedule
Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Six classroom hours reviewing safety and shooting fundamentals

Sunday 2 to 5:30 p.m. :  2-3 hour outdoor practice session

Location
Saturday: Hillside Church, 900 S Campbell Rd, Tahlequah.

Sunday p.m.: Private outdoor range.
