Department of Geography & Political Science

The Geography and Political Science (GPS) Department at Northeastern State University is an engaged community of students, scholars, and educators. Programs within the department broaden students’ perspectives in a diverse and ever-changing world, as wells as, equip students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences that enable them to succeed on their chosen career path.

The GPS Department offers undergraduate degrees in Geography & Sustainability Studies and Political Science with minors in Geography, Global Studies, and Political Science along with a GIS Certificate. Additionally, the department offers a Master’s of Science in Applied GIS and a graduate Applied GIS Certificate.
