Dr. Dana Eversole, Ed.D. and professor of Media Studies, serves as coordinator of the department that includes four areas of emphasis, the student newspaper and several student organizations. She received her bachelor's in journalism education from Northeastern State University, a master's in communication from Pittsburg State University and her doctorate from Oklahoma State University. She is an award-winning writer with specialties in print media, public relations and crisis communication. She received the Lois A. Thomas Award of Distinguished Merit in Teaching from the Oklahoma Interscholastic Press Association, was selected as a Young Oklahoman from the Tulsa Jaycees, was honored as The Circle of Excellence in Service by her peers and was named an original Centurion.

Cassie Freise, instructor of Media Studies, serves as the adviser of The Northeastern student newspaper. The online publication is located at www.nsunews.com. Freise received her bachelor's in mass communication and her master's in communication studies from Northeastern State University. Freise teaches courses in journalism, public relations, photography and Adobe Creative Suites. Freise is a member of the Oklahoma College Media Association, College Media Association and the Indian Nations Professional Photographers Association.
