Homecoming

In 1924, NSU hosted its first-ever homecoming. One hundred years later, NSU and the Alumni Association invite you to return to NSU for the centennial celebration - Forever Green.

Music Program - Earning Credit Hours

Earning Credit Hours

For Music applied and ensemble music courses, credit is awarded as follows:

In music applied (private) lessons, one semester hour of credit equals one 30-minute lesson per week for 15 weeks, plus a jury. Two semester hours of credit equals one 60-minute lesson per week for 15 weeks, plus a jury. Students are expected to practice one hour a day for 30-minute lessons and two hours a day for 60-minute lessons.

In ensemble classes, one semester hour of credit is earned. Wind Ensemble, Band, Chorus, Singers, Opera Workshop, and Jazz Ensembles meet a minimum of 150 minutes per week for the course of the semester. Chamber music classes meet 100 minutes per week.
