Guaranteed Interview Program

Guaranteed Interview Program

The NSU Physician Assistant Program Guaranteed Interview Program provides qualifying Northeastern State University students with a guaranteed interview for potential admission to the PA Program.

Eligibility is limited to students who are completing, or recently completed, a bachelor’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology at NSU. 

A guaranteed interview does not guarantee admission to the NSU PA Program.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Guaranteed Interview Program, an applicant must:

  • Be a permanent resident of the United States;
  • Be on track to complete a bachelor’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology before matriculation into the NSU PA Program;
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75;
  • Have a minimum science GPA of 3.5;
  • Have no grade below a C;
  • Complete all required prerequisite coursework;
  • Have at least 200 hours of experience in a healthcare setting at the time of application;
  • Meet all CASPA, verification, fee, and Guaranteed Interview Program application deadlines; and
  • Be a first-time applicant to the Guaranteed Interview Program.

Meeting these requirements qualifies an applicant for a guaranteed interview only. It does not guarantee admission.

*Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Genetics, and Biochemistry must be completed within seven years of the October 1 application deadline. No exceptions are made to this requirement.

Applicants must also meet the general NSU PA Program admission requirements. 

How to Apply

Eligible students should complete the following steps:

  1. Submit a complete CASPA application by October 1.
  2. Complete the separate Guaranteed Interview Program application by October 1
  3. Ensure the CASPA application is verified and the NSU PA Program application fee is paid by October 20.
  4. Provide any documentation requested by the Program to verify eligibility. 

Submitting a CASPA application does not automatically enroll an applicant in the Guaranteed Interview Program. Applicants must also submit the separate Guaranteed Interview Program application by the deadline.

Incomplete or late Guaranteed Interview Program applications will not qualify for a guaranteed interview.

Participation and Selection

Eligible students may apply to the Guaranteed Interview Program:

  • During their final year at NSU; or
  • During the application cycle immediately following graduation.

Participation is limited to one application cycle. Applicants who are not admitted may apply in a future cycle as traditional applicants. 

Applicants whose eligibility is verified will receive an interview. Following the interview, applicants may be offered admission, placed on the alternate list, or denied admission. Decisions will be communicated on or before February 28.
