Responsible Conduct of Research Resources
Responsible conduct of research (RCR) is defined succinctly by the National Institutes of Health as "the practice of scientific investigation with integrity." RCR training serves to ensure that we are all building on a similar foundation of awareness of established professional norms and ethical principles upon which we can conduct all activities related to scientific research.
Training and education in RCR should occur not only during undergraduate or graduate studies, but throughout one’s career. RCR education can take place in seminars, workshops, or conferences on research ethics, as well as through informal conversations during mentoring, training, and laboratory meetings about ethical conduct and practices.
