Nutritional Sciences Allied Health

Nutritional Science - Allied Health Option

Allied Health option students complete prerequisites courses needed to apply to a wide variety of healthcare professional programs or graduate school. Students receiving a degree in Nutritional Sciences - Allied Health option will be competitive because their educational experience brings a special dimension to their overall knowledge of the relationship of nutrition to health.

The Allied Health option within the Nutritional Sciences program will allow students to utilize this bachelor degree to meet prerequisites for a variety of health professional programs, such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, radiologic technology, dental hygiene, and physician assistant.

Students majoring in Nutritional Sciences - Allied Health are required to complete a minor. Students are advised to meet with the program director and/or college advisor to select a minor which compliments his/her career goals.

*Students completing the Nutritional Sciences - Allied Health option BS degree have not completed the necessary course work required to apply to ACEND - accredited Dietetics Internships nor take the Registered Dietitian (RD) examination. Admission Requirements

Per NSU advisement model, student may declare this degree option at any time with academic adviser.

Retention Requirements

  1. Student must pass all science courses with at least a grade of C or better.
  2. Student must pass all Nutritional Sciences courses with at least a grade of C or better
