MPH Mission

The mission of the Department of Health Professions at Northeastern State University (NSU) is: To provide specialized education designed to prepare students whose career goals encompass the fields represented by the professional health programs within the Department.

The mission of the Master of Public Health Program at Northeastern State University Muskogee is: To promote health through education, innovation, research, and collaboration.

The program's vision is to attain sustainable, quality health of populations in Oklahoma and throughout the world.

The NSU MPH program will improve the future of public health by establishing excellence in training a public health workforce to promote and attain sustainable, quality health of diverse communities in Oklahoma and throughout the world.

Program Goals

Prepare public health professionals with the knowledge and practical skills that are not only necessary for addressing the known health-related needs of individuals but are also needed for inspiring, motivating, and empowering others to participate in creating a culture of change, improving the well-being of individuals and communities and advancing health equity at the local, national, and/or global level.
