Writing Center in Broken Arrow

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to provide our clients students, faculty members, and NSU staff with the tools, the techniques, and the confidence needed to achieve their respective academic goals. We strive to provide a comfortable environment in which clients and consultants can work together to discuss the nature and presentation of ideas. The Writing Center thus functions as a literacy instruction site within the academic community and provides support to student writers from all disciplines and with varying abilities. The basic belief that writing allows people to learn deeply, to think more clearly, and to join the academic conversation serves as the cornerstone of the Writing Center's operation.

Writing tutors are ready and willing to help you!

SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT

Any NSU student can meet with a writing tutor to talk about any type of writing at any stage in the writing process. You have a one-on-one meeting that can last up to 60 minutes, and what you focus on in this meeting is completely up to you.

Drop-in? Make a same-day appointment when you come into the Writing Center by scheduling a time with an available tutor. If a writing tutor isn't meeting with anyone, they'd be more than happy to speak with you. If they are all meeting with writers, one will set up an appointment for you to come back! (NOTE: It is highly recommended that you do not just pop in the day that your paper's due. We cannot guarantee that someone will be available to work with you.)
